Describe your issue / feature…
When running multiple EVE Online clients under Steam/Proton, keyboard input is occasionally not received by either window after switching focus between them, mouse input keeps working as expected. This occurs both when the windows are tiled side-by-side and when grouped in a tabbed layout. Switching back and forth once or twice fixes this.
I tried:
- Changing input:follow_mouse
- Forcing Proton to use Wayland with PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
- Switching from Proton to Proton-GE
I found reports of similar issues when using Xwayland but since the issue persists after switching to proton wayland this seems like a different issue.
After searching and discussing this on the EVE on Linux Discord, this appears to be specific to Hyprland, others have solved this by switching to another Wayland compositor.
I have only been using hyprland for a few days and otherwise im liking it a lot so i was hoping there might be a configuration option i am not aware of to work around this issue. Any guidance on how to narrow down the root cause of this would also be appreciated.
