Basically, I want to be able to set certain programs to be transparent, one example being neovim: how would I do that?
By reading the wiki and setting window rules.
It’s all in there.
wowwwww, so helpful, i totally hadn’t tried that already. thanks :).
what is the windowrule i would use.
windowrule=opacity[0.8],class:neovim
doesnt work.
I agree with you. It does not work that way.
It works in another way for me and thousands of others.
Maybe re-read until the end? There are so many examples.
I am not into spoon feeding.
I will also be honest.
I was going to but I ain’t going to spoon feed you.
These “wowww…” and “elitist cunt” are not my cup of tea.
Bad language and approach mate. Tough luck.
I am not coming back on this with you.
Cheers.
worked it out. i needed to set kitty opacity in hyprland not the kitty config
That’s not the correct syntax. Hyprm3 linked you the wiki page, and you didn’t read it. It provides examples, including for opacity (e.g. here: Window Rules – Hyprland Wiki )
Hyprland is a very much DIY environment. If you want to have a smoother experience, you should really read the pages instead of skimping over.
Or use an AI agent. They’re pretty good at summarizing nowadays.
i realised that, had missed the opacity example at first, the actual issue was i didnt know what program to set opacity for
