How do I prevent errors with hyprland when updating arch linux?

Hello, I think that I’m going to try out Hyprland in Arch Linux.

But I have a question. ON inernet, iIhave seen a lot of videos that say that Hyprland easily breaks. Naturally, I’m kinda scared to have only Hyprland as a WM and nothing else. Is there any way to prevent these issues, like looking at the arch news?

Thanks

Any project that gets lots of development is subject to more breakage than those that don’t. I’ve been running Hyprland on EndeavourOS for a while now, breakages are few and far between. In my case, way less than KDE.

How frequently do you have an error like hyprland doesn’t launch?

Personally, I haven’t had hyprland break so much that it doesn’t launch. I think it’s far easier for some config to change and get messed up. For example, when windowrules changed to v2, the old format stopped working and you got a deprecation error. Anyways, any issues should be rather straightforward to solve using the tty (or you could always leave another compositor installed, just in case).

My advice is to check the blogs vaxry releases about hl, as well as release page on github.

Also backup your dotfiles somewhere,
