Something annoying I have been trying to resolve with Steam is that notification toasts do not respect the reserved area. In my case this manifests as them overlapping with waybar. Now I imagined the solution would be as simple as setting a move window rule but not quite.
Seemingly move rules do not affect it. For example, this should make the window appear in the middle of the screen. But it still spawns in the corner under my bar.
windowrule = move 0 0,title:^(notificationtoasts_.*_desktop)$,class:^(steam)$
That being said, I know that the title/classaren’t wrong because I have found you can affect these windows with rules like the following.
windowrule = opacity .10 .10,title:^(notificationtoasts_.*_desktop)$,class:^(steam)$
It is, seemingly, just rules that move the notifications that don’t go through (ie. move and center). My only guess as to why is that maybe the notifications move themselves to the corner after they are created? I have no clue. If no-one has a solution I will probably just disable them entirely but it feels like there should be something we can do about this.
