How to screenshot properly with HDR enabled?

Hi there !

I’m questioning about how to screenshot properly on hyprland with HDR enabled
Actually I screenshot with this :

But sadly colors aren’t correctly retranscribe by the tool
I’m looking for some tips, maybe tools to have a correct HDR => SDR conversion if it exist

Do you have any tips ?

I assume we would need a screenshot took that supports HDR protocol

hyprland should automatically translate all screencap back into SDR.

is that true ? I’ve yet to see screen share or any screenshot took work with HDR on hyprland. the screenshot or share is always washed out. tried with hdr and hdredid

Does it work on wide? That’s what I use and it looks fine

wide looks really bad for me, hdr and hdredid are the only ones that look right. wide looks super washed even with adjusting sdrbrightness and sdrsaturation.

This ^ looks like perfect in terms of colors

Swapping that to wide makes it quite ugly
